Adam M. Davis

Picture
Adam M. Davis is pledged in service to the people of the land. He teaches about the Earth as a system of connected energy movements in classrooms and in the field, and he leads spiritually oriented “Connecting with the Land” workshops at healthy living fairs, community events, and various other types of gatherings. He enjoys combining multiple perspectives and techniques to explore integrated, holistic ways of working with nature.
Adam enjoys teaching diverse groups of people about the Earth and helping them connect with its energies. He draws upon 15 years of experience teaching Earth and environmental science at the college level as well as over 20 years of experience leading spiritually oriented nature awareness exercises during his efforts to provide the best possible experiences for his students.
The “Connecting with the Land” workshops that Adam facilitates create an intellectual and energetic environment that allows participants to enhance their awareness of the sacred aspects of place and develop nature connections.

Workshops:
Stability, Nourishment, and Connectedness Through Relationships with Tree Allies
As we work with the theme of roots at the Midwest Shamans Conference, we can learn much from trees and their diverse rooting styles. Trees can be allies for helping us find, see, and grow the many different kinds of roots that we may have. During this workshop, we will move through the landscape and communicate with trees that have different rooting tendencies and that grow in different environmental conditions. Our conference time slot will allow us to connect with and learn from between 4 and 7 trees, and facilitator Adam Davis will be available to support work that continues outside of the scheduled workshop period.

Energy Conduits
You are invited to an exploration of conduits along which energy can move, energy exchange can occur, and shamanic practitioners can travel. We will discuss natural conduits such as tree roots, rivers, and mountains as well as human engineered conduits such as power lines and roads. Each workshop participant will have a chance to find a question to address by traveling one of the conduits. Then, toward the end of the workshop, a brief shamanic journey will be facilitated so that folks can get started on addressing the question and/or explore one or more of the conduits. We will save a few minutes at the end for journaling, sharing, and planning further inquiries.

Here is an article that focuses on the use of shamanic techniques and practices for developing relationships with nature is available at:
